Thief Puzzle: Stretchy Arm Routes and Guard Timing

Updated 2026-11-02 · GameVault Guides

Thief Puzzle hands you an absurdly stretchable arm and a series of guards who would very much like you to keep it short. The comedy hides a real puzzle game: every level is a routing problem, and every guard is a timing problem. Failures are loud and funny, which is good — you will have a few before the routes click.

Plan the return trip, not just the grab

Beginners plan a path to the loot and forget the arm has to come back the same way. Before extending, check the entire corridor your arm will occupy — including the return journey. If a laser or a sleeping dog's head sits anywhere along that line, the route is dead no matter how clean the grab looks.

Guards loop, and loops have gaps

Watch any moving guard for one full cycle before acting. Their patrol is a loop with a predictable dead zone — a moment when they look away or walk to the far end of their path. Your grab window is that gap, not the guard's position. Extending during the gap and retracting before the loop completes is the whole game; everything else is just funny failure animations.

When a level feels impossible

  • You are probably grabbing too early — wait one extra loop cycle.
  • Check whether an object can be used as cover mid-route.
  • Try approaching the loot from the opposite side; arms bend more than you think.

Patience converts nearly every stuck level into a routine grab. Stretch out in Thief Puzzle and put the loop-watching to work.
