Swarmfront: Upgrade Priorities That Keep You Alive Past Wave Ten

Updated 2026-11-02 · GameVault Guides

Swarmfront is a wave survival game with a simple question at its core: after each wave, which upgrade do you take? Pick well and the swarms become your scoreboard; pick badly and wave eight ends the run you thought was going somewhere. This guide gives the choice a structure.

The fix-your-last-death rule

The best upgrade question is not 'what is strongest?' but 'what nearly killed me last wave?'. Overwhelmed by flankers? Area damage or move speed. Chipped down by constant ranged hits? Sustain or armor. Burst down in one ambush? Health pool. Upgrades are tools for the run you are actually having, not the run you planned — this one rule fixes more builds than any tier list.

Mobility is a weapon

New players undervalue movement because damage numbers feel concrete. But surviving a swarm is mostly about position: kiting the mass, splitting the pack, reaching drops. Move speed and dash upgrades pay off every single second, while a damage upgrade only pays when you are already standing in the right place. If you are ever torn, take the legs.

Stop stacking one stat

  • Damage with no sustain means one chip-death ends the run.
  • Sustain with no damage means the swarm grows faster than you clear it.
  • Anything without mobility means the flank eventually gets you.

Round out the build, fix the last death, and wave fifteen stops being a wall. Drop into Swarmfront and put the rule to work.
