Euro Truck Parking: How to Reverse a Trailer Without Losing Your Mind

Updated 2026-11-02 · GameVault Guides

Euro Truck Parking looks like a driving game, but the moment you try to reverse into a bay it reveals itself as a physics puzzle. The trailer does not follow the cab — it argues with it. Once you understand one rule, the whole game opens up: to move the trailer's rear to the left, you steer the cab to the right while reversing. Everything else is patience.

The golden rule of trailers

When reversing, the trailer pivots around its own rear axle, and your steering input does the opposite of what a car would do. New players fight this and jackknife within seconds. Instead, make small steering corrections and watch the angle between cab and trailer — your goal is keeping that angle small. A big angle means you have lost the geometry and need to pull forward to reset.

Use the camera, not the windshield

The game gives you camera angles for a reason. Before every maneuver, cycle to the rear-facing view and look at the bay from the trailer's perspective. Line up your approach so the bay entrance is slightly on your mirror side — reversing into a bay you can see beats guessing at one you cannot.

  1. Drive past the bay and stop when your cab is roughly half a truck-length beyond it.
  2. Angle the cab away from the bay about 30 degrees, then begin reversing slowly.
  3. Steer opposite to the direction the trailer needs to swing, making tiny corrections.
  4. Straighten cab and trailer before the final half-meter, then creep in.

Don't rush the last meter

Almost every collision in this game happens in the final half-meter, when the trailer is nearly in and the driver relaxes. Treat the last stretch as the slowest part of the whole maneuver. One clean park with zero scrapes is worth more points than three fast attempts with two crashed doors. Take it into the next lot in Euro Truck Parking and prove it to yourself.
